My mum once said to me "put some new water in the goldfish bowl". I said "they haven't drank the last lot yet".
No fish don't get thirsty, they're constantly absorbing moisture and oxygenated water through their gills. You'll notice they get awful hungry though, they're mostly greedy blighters, fish, so be careful of overfeeding.
Some people say fish only have a memory of a few seconds. This cannot be true. Every time I approach my tank, the fish come to the top expecting to be fed. This means they must remember they got food last time a person came to the tank, so the short memory theory is disproved.

It's not so much as they're thirsty, just that they're bored with the same old thing day in day out.

Try filling your tank with 1/3 vodka and see if they feel better.

Unlikely because they live, sleep, breathe and swim in water so whenever they open their mouth (and they do this frequently) water will automatically enters the Fishs mouth.

Only after gammon and chips, try soaking the gammon in water first before giving it to them!

yes......... take them to 7/11 that will quench their thirst.... make sure they have alot of ice.
