Yes it does. Now the reason I am even answering since the first guy got it right is because of the second answer. While you may never use the second processor in the Core 2 Duo in a game, it is still better than a single core becasue just one of the cores in a Core 2 Duo is FAR faster than any single core processor available, so it would be a better choice even if you NEVER made use of the second core.

It looks as though that MB cover pretty much all socket 775 cpu's so I would say yes. But if your gaming your better off with a single core. I use amd 4000 and overclock up to FX 55 speed. With that I run 2 7800 gtx cards in sli config. Dual core processors are mainly good for multitasking. Like surfing web while downloading movies. As for gaming your better of with single core where whole processor is in use. Also, you should use a sound card, it has its own chipset and won't pull away from cpu speeds. Onboard audio requires more cpu power. If you have any questions e-mail me. Oh yeah intel cpu's are locked in so you can't overclock. I build sick gaming pc's. I get CPU magazine and build to their best rated PC specs.. Look at the inside of a Voodoo and then go from there. Voodoo gaming rigs are top notch.

Yes, this mobo supports all intel core 2 processor versions including the core 2 duo and the core 2 EXTREME, so you can go with the Intel core 2 duo for now and upgrade later. I also noticed the overclocking features, Good choice
