I really want to go to Durham university to study law - but the problem is, I did my last couple of years at college part time. They are VERY strict on stuff like that and i just needed a good excuse as to why i did that (truth is i dropped Business Studies cos i hated it!)

Also, i did law in my first year of college, dropped it in the second year (i thought i hated it!) rhen picked it up again in my 3rd year cos realised i liked it again. I can't say that to a top uni like Durham, makes me sound flaky (which i probably am!) but i need some crafty people who can give me advice on how to look good! Thanks!

turn it on it's head- look at what you did when you dropped BS and look at why you did it in the most positive way you can.

You then tell them this and they think "wow, she really know what she wants to do and is not afraid to take decisions and do what she really believes in" This will go a loooong way to cutting past the crap of whether it was part time or not.

Don't forget that learning part time is much much harder than full-time as you have to focus on two directions at once... "not only was I doing such-and-such a job which entailed blah-di-blah (which i was brilliant at) i also studied for and passed my business studies A- Level (if i've read your text properly) which i am determined to further to achieve (goal)"

Good luck Naomi ;)

Just own up to being a confused student. They will be used to them.

You shouldn't have a problem getting into pre-law

Try explaining in your own words then they'll decide they hate it and maybe change their mind in two years if they're flakey like you
