I don't mind them, but they're still a lousy way to settle even a regular-season game. I'd rather see teams go to 3-on-3 in overtime so that there's less chance of a shootout.

If they do keep shootouts, then I'd like to see them make it all or nothing, in that the losing team doesn't get one point for the loss. That might force teams to press a little more in overtime than does the current format.

HATE THEM

They take away from a penalty shot during the game, because all you have to do is watch the highlights for games that day and there WILL be a shootout.
I don't care for ties, but put in a 20 minutes OT. If it's tied after that leave it at that.
OR continue to play 20 minute overtimes until someone scores. Basketball & Baseball both go on until someone wins.

All-in-all, the shootout cheapens hockey.

Hockey shootouts rock! The suspense of who will miss the first goal, the nervousness of realizing your team might blow it, then the sheer joy when your team scores the winning goal!

I didn't think I would like them but I am actually finding them quite exciting. I now hope that when a game ends in a tie that no one will score in the overtime and it will go to a shoot out.

They are great, add excitement to a normally boring overtime where they would just play for the point for a tie.

they can do whatever in the regular season but no other sport can touch hockey playoffs, overtime; whatever it takes to win the Lord Stanley. im just happy they aren't putting shut out in the playoffs cause that for sure would kill this beautiful game hockey the 2nd biggest sport in the world behind football(soccer).
