MY SON IS 27 YESTERDAY HIM AND HIS FRIENDS HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THIS PHYLOSITY THAT ON HOLIDAYS OR BEFORE THEM THEY BREAK UP WITH GIRLFRIENDS SO THEY DONT HAVE TO DO THE GIFT THING AND THEN A FEW DAYS LATER THEY GET BACK TOGETHER . ITS AWFUL THING TO DO. BUT HE SAYS A LOT OF GUYS DO IT COULD THIS BE WHATS GOING ON AROUND THOSE IMP. DATES?

What calender dates? if it Christmas, wedding anniversaries and birthdays you'd better ask your partner why? If it is things like a 3 month or 6 month "anniversary" for meeting, first kiss, or some such nonsense forget it....
For example, my wife just loves to decorate the whole house for Christmas...it doesn't mean that much to me because Christmases for me as a kid were horribly stressful (Mom drunk/stoned and going ballistic 3X/day, Dad denying everything, had to do everything just like parents remembered their christmases and go to church every day for about a week it seemed) - just bloody awful memories.
The main thing here maybe is that you have got to talk to your partner and find out what is going on and get their opinion as to why...

I have an ex, and he made EVERY holiday a nightmare......... I dumped him like a hot potato..... I was through crying because he hated holidays and I loved getting into the holiday spirit. I started taking him and his actions personally, and I told him to take it and shove it. Blessed be.......... I hope your relationship gets better.

because you guys have different belieifes. Family orinted person and disfunctional family person tend to clash during holidays and birthdays. Come get some of this holiday sausage.

MY HUSBAND WAS THE SAME WAY FOR YEARS. IT WAS BECAUSE HE HAD HORRIBLE CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF THE HOLIDAYS. WE STILL DO NOT PUT ALOT OF IMPORTANCE ON HOLIDAYS. EXCEPT FOR OUR GRANDCHILDREN.

because he probably hate giving you gift or probably, he has a holiday anxiety disorder.

because holidays and even vacations can be so stress full sumtimes and even the in the best realationships this happens why ? i dunno it happens to me and my husband all the time but most of it is bickering :)
