I've heard rumors from a couple people that Formula 1 is going to have a grand prix in phoenix next year! Can anyone confirm this?

F1 and boss Bernie Ecclestone are desperately trying to have more presence in the USA. But the USA are unfortunately not ready for a lot of F1. One Grand Prix per year is what we have got. (And we should be happy because Indianapolis was even in doubt this year, and next year!!!)

But the tentative schedule for next year's F1 season has been released, and in the USA there is only going to be one race: Indianapolis, again.

Therefore, Phoenix will definitely not happen in 2007.

However, in the future they are planning to include more North American G.P.'s in addition to Indianapolis, or possibly in substitution for the brickyard.

NO F1 is not coming to Arizona next year or any time in the near future.... Indy and FIA have signed a new contract that will last for the next couple of years... I imagine any tracks in AZ would have to be modernized even further to hold the pinnacle of motor racing there.

Las Vegas might be more like it.. They signed something for open wheel racing could be IrL or CART though
