No it's not hard being black everything is giving to them. Whats hard is working 18 hours a day just to eat because you have to give most of what you work for to people that don't work.

Being a single parent I wish I could give something to look forward to for my son, but I can't because I have to provide for everyone else first.

I used to love the country I live in, now I hate it. It sucks now and only getting worse everyday. I believe the only way to fix it now is war, that way I can leave something behind for my son to care about. Peace

Believe it or not; many people show their prejudices and discontent; inadvertently. It can be very challenging. Do I personally blame others for the insulting institutional racist plight; no. I figured out a long time ago, that Whites today are in the same precarious plight as African-Americans. We didn't create the established pecking order; or the barrier wall. However; we must address and focus on making greater changes to societies weak areas, towards cultural and race diversification.

There are times when you are forced into uncomfortable situations such as job promotions, dating, entertainment, and housing. I've even notice here on Yahoo Answers; where people make up generations of stereotype to provoke anger, and malice. In essence its counterproductive to the cohesiveness needed to better this country; and make America the city on the hill; that shines brighter than ever. Yes we still have a long ways to go!

Yes and no. Its mostly hard being poor as opposed to just being black (like during the 1860 to the 1960s when voting meant risking your life). People still assume all black people are exactly the same, but its neither here nor there. A poor black person, a poor white person, a poor Latino, which one is better off???????

No it's not hard being a black person. But blacks along with other races get stereotyped for alot of reasons. For instance, if it were a liquor store robbery, then media would assume they were black. Also, it's like all Iraqis have it bad because of a select few that hijacked a couple of planes here. If it were sniper shootings, they would be presumed to be white. Not always true in either case. It's not what you are called and presumed as, it is what you answer to. I am a black woman, entrepeneur and making six figs a year along with my husband who is a doc. What I am trying to say is, we are who we make ourselves out to be. It's not the race as a whole, but it is selected ones that make everyone else look bad.

You probably see it that way because most people of central american decent have a reputation of posessing a strong work ethic. Blacks on the other hand are thought to be the exact opposite. Being black is not as hard as it might seem once you have learned how to play "the game" in society.

There have been a lot of minority groups that came to this country. English, French, Irish, Polish, Russian, Latino, Asian and so on. Most have been feared and isolated to begin with because they were different. Most have become assimilated by learning English and mixing in with the people already here. This phenomenon has been called the melting pot. Blacks are harder to blend in because of their skin color. So it will just take a lot longer.

It's hard growing up in a place where you have been treated as less than equal. Black, Latina/o, white or whatever. Depends. But I find that I have to work harder to get what I want because of my race. I dont know suga. You may have to be Black to understand.

You are a nice person. It's not your fault though. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to look for work in an environment that is not like that. I'm asian, but I do know what it feels like to be discriminated upon.
