Downloading music for free is illegal. Limewire, Bearshare, Bit-Torrent etc are only supposed to be used to download non-copyrighted material, it says this in the conditions when you install it. Everyone seems to do it though!

For a legal music service try www.pandora.com. You can tell it what artists and music you like and it will create personal radio stations that have similar musical tastes. It may take a while, but if you type in a song you like you can get it played (you have the option to skip tracks you don't like) I've found it great!

installing p2p software like limewire is very risky, and allows threats like viruses to enter your machine behind your security such as firewalls. try www.yourmp3.net its free with no membership required.

www.limewire.com is a really good one. I get loads of stuff from there.

Stay away from bearshare. I made that mistake on my last pc and regretted it.

Happy listening
