As a shop steward or member of a union you are protected under the Trade Unions and Labour Relations Act if you are treated unfairly due to trade union involvement. If you have already been to tribunal any award you were due should have been awarded there.

Speak to your branch for further advice on what compensation might be available to you, but my understanding is that a tribunal would make this award at the time they decided whether you were being treated unfairly due to trade union involvement.

If you had someone represent you in your case, they should be able to give you further advice.

Look on the TUC website, it's a mine of information.

The only protection shop stewards have is that of the untion agreement and the protection that the union affords them.

no law to cover shop steward discrimination. no different from any other union member. not sure what monies you can fight for your union should help. bypass the shopsteward and find out the facts direct from the union
