Please verify that the hostname/ip and the port are correctly written in the fields. No spaces in front etc. Also try using an direct IP instead of hostnames. also, try going to settings, windows update.

What are you trying to connect to?

Did you recently set up a pop3 server in Outlook Express or so? If you, your configuration seems corrupted or misconfigured. Check out the Accounts tab in Outlook Express.

If you did not do anything, there might be a backdoor tries to connect a random pop3 server.

Some things that could be causing this are Anti Virus software that check E-mails. Firewall Settings, or a misconfigured E-mail account (I listed this last with the thought that it's been working fine up till now)
Try these sites and see if they help

You're getting this error in an email client, right? "Http" is not a valid email server. You will need to go into the account settings and change it.

Mail server information is incorrect. The Mail server (and you should verify it with your provider) will be something like 'pop.comcast.net' or 'mail.comcast.net'
