Not necessarily, if you bought a USB printer for example but only have a parrallel port in yur pc you won't be able to. Generally speaking you need to check the OS version of your pc with what the manufacturer says on the printer website too. If you are running Windows XP, the printer driver works with xp, your PC has a USB interface and it's a USP printer aswell you really 'should' be fine however there are still no absolute guarantees!

If you want to connect a printer to a DSL router then you will need to buy a print server which is not expensive. You can look it up in froogle.com or eBay.com . The print server should acts like a independent pc network and by adding printer via through network is very easy.

I am running two different makes of printer on my PC and not had a problem, if you have the set set up disks (cd - roms) you should not have a problem.
Good luck

To the best of my knowledge, yes.
You will require the installation details and software disc to proceed. Ensure you have the correct connecting leads.
My tip, only use software to install your printer if it is clearly marked for the purpose. Any item you wish to add to your computer will have the relevant software on a CD, and will be marked for that item. If it does not, discard, and seek advice.

you should be able to connect any printer to any pc relying on your have the right cable to connect and software for the printer. Some printers have usb cable and some have others. it really only depends on your hookups and whether your computer can support ther software.
