I'm currently working at the company that the temp agency placed me at, and they still provide temps to the company. However, I want to find another job and I know that they have several good positions available with different companies. Should I talk to my former contact at that agency, or would that be too big of a risk while I'm still employed here?

You can talk to your temp agency. Since you were placed there full-time by them, you should have a good rep with the temp agency. If you start applying at other places, your current place is going to find out anyway.

It is a big risk that you shouldn't take because I tried to leave the Federal Reserve Bank earlier and my contact person from this agency told me to wait until the position ended. I wasn't happy working there because the hours weren't there for me, but at least it was money. So, if you signed a contract stating that you will be with the client until the dept. closes, then you are stuck there. My advice is : you can go register with other agencies to find work if you are unhappy at your present job. Your contact person from this agency might not send you to a different company. Good luck.
