My husband left me last September and now there is talk about us trying it again...We have a 6 month old son who lives with me and has since he was born. I think that being with my husband would be the right thing for my son and I for many reasons but I am wondering if I am doing it for convenience for stability, money, and support? Any advise?

First of all you need to remember or find out why he left you in the first place. And then what changed for him to want to come back. Then how do you know he isn't going to do it again. Is a roller coaster of a family the kind of life you want to raise your child into? That's the big question.

There's nothing wrong with taking convenience, stability and money into consideration. But bottom line is - do you feel that you can both learn from your past mistakes and make this relationship stronger, or will you basically condemn yourself to being unhappy for the sake of your son? Only you can figure out what "feels" right, and what would be best for everyone involved.

If it doesn't feel right to you, don't do it. Don't get back together just because you have a kid together, that isn't fair for anybody. Do it because the two of you still love each other, (if that's the case).

He left you. Now set rules that he is going to live by if he wants back otherwise kick him to divorce court. Your kid is young enough now to not become to attached and divorce later will hurt the kid more.

Well, why did he leave? If it was because of abuse don't take him back. Abusers don't ever change. If your not together he can still rasie his child.

He might leave you again. Once was enough - tell him to get lost!
