I think they're weeks are off. Are doctor's weeks shorter than ours. They said conception was on Setember 11 but when I went I was 5 weeks according to the chart. From the 11th till the time she told me I was technically 3 weeks. ???????????/

Is the conception date the day you had intercourse supposedly. Could it have been 2 weeks before your last cycle.

you do it this way:
date of the first day of your last period = _________
date of ovulation is 12-15 days after that
date of implantation is 4-5 days after that
that final date would be your "APPROXIMATE" conception date
not even dr's can be 100% sure

doctors use the menstrual age of the baby for reference. the conceptional age of the baby is calculated by subtracting 2 weeks from the m.a. THE exact day of conception can only be certain if u had only one intercourse that too with 3 days' error

Ok....I am due 6-18-07 and think I got pregnant on Spet. 23rd.....so that would make it September the 10th. The doctor measures how far along you are by counting from the first day of your last period. I am 4 and a half weeks because the first day of my last period was September the 11th.

i had this same thing happen to me...the doctor told me i was 5 weeks pregnant when actually i was only 3 weeks...i knew the exact day i conceived...i argued with her and she explained that the pregnancy weeks are counted from the first day of your last period...even though you dont get pregnant on that day...i guess that is when the egg is released or something...hope this helps...:)

They go by the date of your last period, not when you actually ovulated or had sex. This is easier, since most women know when their last period was, and may have had sex several times. The date of your period is usually 2 wks before ovulation/fertilization.

Doctors go by the first day of your last period. Not the day you conceived.

They calculate your due date as if you conceived two weeks after your last period. They don't even care when you actually had sex. Ironic, huh?
