The password can be used by more than one person.

When's the last time you logged in to your account? After a certain period of inactivity, e-mail accounts (at least,those that are web-based like yahoo or hotmail) are usually deleted.If this is the case,I believe you'll have to register again.

Passwords are usually case sensitive, i/e. you may be using a letter 'O' where a figure '0' should be or vice-versa. Beyond that, I can't help.
