My window was shot out with a BB gun and my husband taped plastic over the window with clear packing tape. Now there are bits of glass stuck in tape residue all around the repaired window. How can I get it off and not damage the paint around the window? The company the insurance company sent to repair the window would not touch it.

I've used E-Z Off Oven cleaner with good success. It's designed not to harm painted finishes.

goo gone from auto part store works great, just put it on a paper towel, and place over the area. It should loosen the glue so you can remove the glass without scratching the paint up.

Use Goo-off or Disolve it (sp.?) Found in any home depot or other home center. Usually sold around the paint department. I have found disolve it in grocery stores around the laundry section. They are both great products with a lot of uses.

Vegetable oil. It needs to soak on the glue and rub softly until it soften up....then you can wipe it off.
