I work in social services planning and this is just jargon - as an example of what it means, if you were going to provide a service or set up a new resource centre or whatever, having an integrated approach would mean contacting other agencies, i.e health, voluntary sector other agencies to chip in with funding, staffing etc it might also involve speaking with service users to make sure that the service is one that meets their needs. Hope I am making sense .... or I may too be using jargon !!

Using the resources you have to the best. Integrating means putting it all together so you don't have too many people doing one job and not enough doing another.

just a vague expression that means that one department can't deal with the whole situation so they get two or more to try and figure it out.
