I don't know, it's a tough question. I was getting made fun of by other girls for still being a virgin at 11, and now at 19 I'm still one and I think it's really tough not having had sex yet. It just makes me a lot more hesitant about participating in some activities. It seems like everyone just falls into bed by like the third date now a days. So....I would just say that if it's someone they're in love with and think will stick around for a little while, then go ahead. There's a fine line between too young and too old. People that are older think we're too young, and often people regret having sex that young because, wether you believe it or not, you really may not be ready yet. There's a huge psychological difference between 14 and 19, I wouldn't have believed, but there is. However, you just really need to decide for yourself if you're ready or not and if you trust that other person. Big question: What will you feel like after it's done? The next morning? The week after? Do you trust him/her and feel completely comfortable with them? However, I personally would suggest waiting until you're 16 at least. You are most likely too young, and will regret it fairly soon.

There are no physical reasons not to have sex, the tearing of the membrane if it's still there will hurt moe, and you'll very easily get pregnant, so be sure to use protection and to be very careful. You never know what diseases he could have and not even know about, he could've gotten something wothout even having had sex. So no, there are just mental and physiological reasons for not having sex that young, it could be bad for you later. You really are probably too young. (fyi, condoms are NOT supposed to break - my sister actually thought that was supposedto happen-big no no. :p)

I think the problem starts at home with her parents not keeping a tighter leash on her. Maybe both parents work and are never there for her so she just wants someone to pay attention to her and needs to feel loved. I don't think It's ok for her health since all the diseases that are out there now and the girls of today are growing up alot more faster then in the 70 or 80's. I do however would suggest this young lady go see a gynocologist. If she would rather her parents not find out go to one of those free health clinics.

The loss of virginity by a 14 year old is a sad commentary on the state of childrearing today.

There are opportunities aplenty for youngsters to grow up too quickly in today's society.

As for the health aspects, aside from the propensity for acquisition of sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, syphillis, chlamydia, human papilloma virus and so forth there are the lost innocence and and impact on attitude towards life and people in general as well as possibilities for adverse impact on reputation and the evolution of standards of morality.

Life is a journey, not just a destination. Let us not judge anybody but strive to understand and provide understanding that our children may enjoy the full measure of their youths without having the encumbered existence of 'children bearing children' or suffering disease as a consequence of their actions.

Fourteen is too young to have sex for the first time. Don't succumb to peer pressure because NOT everyone is doing it.
Young teens are not ready in so many ways for their first sexual time. Wait until you are much older when you can handle it and can do it with someone who is also mature enough to handle it.
You have pregnancy, AIDs, and other STDs to worry about as well. Not everyone is honest on whether they are clean or not.
Don't risk dying before you are 18 for a night of passion. Don't risk ruining your future plans because of an unexpected baby. You'll be glad you did. Trust me.

I went to school with a girl who got pregnant at 15. Her plans for the future went down the toilet. She wished she had waited.

I think that she has other issues in her life that are bigger than her losing her virginity. Until she can afford to live on her own and raise a child, she should not be having sex. Secondly, it is very bad for her health because once a woman starts having sex, she has to make regular visits to the OB/GYN. Even though sexual intercourse is a natural part of life, the risk of bacteria, viruses and other infections are the risks associated with sexual activity.

Way too young. Not old enough to make that decision. Boy or girl. I think before you have sex, that you should have to be aware and responsible for all risks and consequences. Can a 14 year old take care of a baby if she gets pregnant? No. Can the father if he's underaged, too? No.

God, don't get me started!

I think maybe 14 is a little to young.

As for health problems it shouldn't have caused any internal damage as long as it was consensual but i do hope that protection was used. STD's cause real health problems.

At 14...hummm well in my personal opition 14 is too young mentally....as far as her health is concerned... sh'ell be fine, she won't get hairy palms.

Sex at any age is not something to take lightly.it is something to hold near and dear to you and to be shared with those that turely deserve to be within your personal center. It's a gift you have and should only be given to those that know how to charish it.

14 is to young, your not a whore like that other girl said, health wise it wont hurt you, unless of course your not practicing safe sex, i realise at your age you have all these hormones running around in your body driveing you crazy but you need to think to yourself is this the best thing for me now, i hope you logic will overcome your urge to carry on with this till your older, theres going to be plenty of time in the future for that kind of play,
