Hi, I'm currently working at a small business warehouse dealing with electronic components. I'm basically the warehouse manager I do almost everything besides making the invoices. I count, update inventory, get items ready for shipment, make labels, pack them then ship them. I do all the paperwork and keep the warehouse running by myself with over a couple thousand line items. i'm basically quality control, inventory management, warehouse management, warehouse supervisor, shipping recieving all rolled into one. I think i'm highly underpaid. Tell you the truth I make ONLY around 10 an hour.

What do you think I should be paid?

I work in lake forest california. I get a raise every 6 months, but it's really nothing. I just think I do so much and i get paid very little.

Sorry, forgot to mention I have no benefits 401k anything or anything. I believe my boss can pay me a lot more. He takes in around 3-5 thousand a week depending on how much business we get.

If i'm sick or don't go into work the business basically shuts down. No one else at the business has the knowledge to do what i do. I come back and there are alike 20 invoices for me to complete

You won't really be able to get a cut and dry answer, as there are so many variables here. Do you have health care? Do you work more than 40 hours a week? How heavy duty is the work? Are you working in a highly competitive labor market? Is you job mostly brains or braun? How long have you been working there? What is the cost of living index for the area in which you work?

Assuming you DO have health care, and work 40 or more hours a week, and truely are the only person responsible if a package doesn't make it out the door on time, I would estimate your salary should be somewhere between 30k-40k a year (basically $15-$20 /hr), provided that you work in an area that's not too far above or below the national average cost of living level.

But, as always, it's totally subject to supply and demand. How easy would it be for your employer to replace you for someone that can provide the same caliber of work in a reasonable amount of time?

I think you should ask for 35,000 plus a benefits package. Especially if you are the only one doing it. If you don't get it, job search, but be willing to relocate. Or you can job search first, get an offer and take it back to the owner and see what he says. Many business owners really appreciate a good worker, but are experts at not paying them their value, while at the same time keeping them.

To be quite honest with you that sounds about right. especiallyy if you doh't do invoices. I know it seems like a lot, but its way above minimum wage.

Sorry. Try asking for a raise.

And Amanada 40, 000 is way too much for the position he is describing...

It depends a lot on the part of the country you live in

I would say around $40,000 to $45,000/per year
If it is a small company though, they aren't going to be able to pay you that....I would look for another job and I bet you would get a much higher salary

You make your own market, better up grade at the earliest, instead of slipping into depression.
