It depends on my mood. If I am grumpy, or I have a headache or something, I would probably avoid the crowd. If I was in a decent mood, I may be more apt to sit closer to the cluster of people. Also, I think it depends on WHY you are there and WHO you are with. If I am by myself studying for an exam, then I would be more apt to sit away from people. But if I am with a couple friends just chatting, I wouldn't care as much sitting by others...

I always get away from the crowd, driving, shopping or otherwise. However, I am usually the life of the party in crowds I know well, so I am usually invited to sit where they are. I am also fairly well known so it can be a challenge to find somewhere to be alone. When I was married to my ex-husband and we lived in Boulder CO we decided to have a quiet evening by ourselves, we went to a remote restaurant on the other side of Denver and somebody knew me...causing my husband to remark "Does EVERYBODY know you?" It felt kinda good but sometimes people can wear you out, I can't imagine being a nationally known celebrity, how they get any privacy is beyond me.

Peace.

I go away from the crowd. My daughter was a waitress so I feel sorry for the waitress in the less crowded section and try to give her some customers so she will make better tips that day. Also in the less crowded sections you are likely to get better service from the wait staff because they are not so busy.

I like the person that said I would just try to find the best seat, but probably away from the people, unless they were a bunch of hotties or something like a bridal shower

Me I would sit somewhere in the middle not far away and not next to. Facing the door. hopefully next to a window or outside.

If I'm by myself I'll sit closer to the group... If I'm on a hot date, I'll sit off in a nice quiet corner....

I like to be centeralized so the waiter/waitress will see me and get to me sooner. Also, if you go where everyone else is they will check on you more b/c they don't have to go out of their way to get to you.
