What does this have to do with physics? Try another catagory such as religion, mythology, but stay away from physics and leave it for the pure science that it is.

Good question. I hear that God permits suffering and injustice because of original sin and people using their free will to disobey God's rules; therefore God is not the cause of the suffering.

A baby or a child does not have free will and are innocent, why must the truly innocent suffer greatly when God, the parent, can intervene? There is a claim of Divine Intervention.

If there is a God, it's God's game and he can play the game anyway he wants.

Pray to God for guidance because you don't want to piss God off. Good luck not getting caught up is some delusion about Gods will - like the fanatics.

Did you ever think maybe he doesn't exist? Even the so-called Christian folk of our world don't act very Christian-like. Judgemental, mightier than thou, can't look far enough down their noses at non-believers.

Watch the offence taken by that comment, and watch the reaction. I bet they won't be very nice!...I'm just evil because I don't share the same opinion as they do re some imaginary deity supposedly running everything from above. Even if it were true, not doing a very good job, now is s/he?

I say, to each their own. If you believe, you believe, if you don't, you don't.

Because He gave us free will. Unfortunately, there are some evil people who want to hurt others. God made Earth to be paradise, but our sin is what took that away (Genesis 3). Our paradise will be in Heaven.

If God made people do what he wanted, His joy wouldn't be the same. For example, would you feel truly loved if your spouse didn't have a choice?

It doesn't exist.

And for all those believers...let's suppose you have a son, he has free will and you gave him life to have free will, you have teached him what's good and what's bad, so he knows all that, but one day you see he is going to kill someone for no reason, just to have fun. Will you let him kill that person or will you stop him?

I would stop him for sure. For all those believers I would be doing a wrong action, since I'm not leting him do what he has the free will to do.

That explains god, which is....nothing, Like I said at the beginning it simply doesn't exist.

If god intervened to prevent all of thiose things it would involve bending a lot of different physical laws. Clearly this would cause distress to physicists. My conclusion is that physicists are god's chosen people and everyone else will have to suffer to keep them happy.

Best of Luck - Mike

I'm not religious, but logically that is two separate questions:

1) Does God exist?

2) If, yes, then why does he permit wars, etc.

Atheists regularly make that blunder.

Your conception of God is wrong ( so is many peoples ).

God is not a guy on a cloud.

God is the Universe within, without, interdimensional and 'everything there is, was, will be, could be and more'.
All the life within in it causes people to say 'The Living God', it is.

Hence > we are all children of God. God is free, you dont need to go to church to find it, your in it, you are a part of it. I will stop here ; )

We have free will and this is why these things happen. God does not "permit" them. He has also blessed us with his Grace which helps us get through these things.

Most people assume that the presence of such violent acts is indication that God does not exist. You would have to search far back to man's origin to understand why these things are allowed for a time. God had already stated the terms of continued existence for Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2:15-17) He specifically told them that they were entitled to eat from every tree from the garden of Eden but only "one" tree to keep away from less they die. The command was a simple one but when being tempted Eve decided to eat from that tree. God had conveyed to Eve that if she ate from the tree of knowledge of good and bad she would die. The devil at Genesis 3:4,5 implied something different contrary to what was told them by God. He told Eve she would not die and could actually be like God deciding for herself good and bad. That thought appealed to her and so she ate of the tree and disobeyed God. (verse 6) When with her and not being in the presence of the temptation Adam just ate of the fruit thereby showing who he favored more. The Devil's implication that man could decided for himself his course has lead to a host of problems for humanity. Instead of destroying them God allowed them to see for themselves that there course without his influence would not be good. To illustrate: Suppose you were a teacher and you were teaching the class a math problem. One of your students stand up in front of class and claim that he has a better way to solve the problem and your way is not correct. What would you do? Likely you would let the student come up and demonstrate his accusation. You have done this to help all in the class to see who has the most experience to handle a problem successfully. Adam and Eve were a new creation and they needed someone much wiser and had more experience with knowledge to direct them so as to have a successful existence. There choice was to abandon his directions and influence in life and settled for their own. Today we see thoroughly the results for such poor decision making of our first parents. God plans to correct the problems and restore life and paradise to this earth. Revelation 21:3,4, Revelation 7:9,10 are just a few of the many scriptures that disclose God's plan to restore mankind to perfect conditions as in the past. However, there is more to add to this understanding for a more rounded view with understanding. Here is one section of scripture that supprises many when they read it. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) It speaks to the times we live in today and better explains why things are so bad for a time.
