Right heres the story, my friends sister is 12 years old but looks much more mature for her age, both my parents and everyone thinks she looks about 14. Anyways im a 16 year old and i find her really attractive, should i be worried, because i think its wrong but i cant help it if i really like her in that way. Plus to prove shes mature she started her period at eleven and has already grown a good pair of breasts at such a young age.

Just because she began menstruating earlier and developing earlier does not make her mature. Her body may look mature, but she's 12. Her mind isn't... it's still learning and developing just like every other child her age. I'm not sure why some people think that just because a young girl, or boy, looks older than they are, that they're automatically thought of as more mature. That's wrong.

I don't think at this stage it's too much to worry about...but think of it this way - you're in high school, right? You're experiencing much more than she is right now. There are plenty of girls in your age group that are where you're at in life, going through some of the same concerns and issues you may be dealing with. You'll be 18 in two years, preparing for college and an adult life.... this 12-year-old little girl will be at a completely different stage in her own life, learning to become an adult and going through her own experiences that kids her age are going through.

My opinion, and that's all it is - my opinion, would be to look elsewhere for someone. Find someone closer to your age that's kind of where you are in life. I know it doesn't seem like a big age difference between the two of you, but believe me, there's some differences.

You have largely answered your own question - she is too young for you - mind and body don't always develop together - but since you've said you've no intention of doing anything that's obviously understood and is the right response.

But I don't understand the overreacting people whose answers appear oblivious to the fact that if she (truly!?) looks 14 then it's not too surprising that you are attracted. But you know she isn't 14 so you need to look elsewhere for a few years at least.

Like you I fancied a girl younger than me by 3 years, I was 16 she was 13 we were good friends and I took her out, but we never made love because we agreed that she was too young and that we would wait, well I took a few other girls out and she went with other boys and we stayed close and got closer if you catch my drift, when she was 18 I asked her to marry me and 3 years later we walked down the iale, sadly she died at the age of 47.
BUT NO YOU ARE OK AND NORMAL. JUST STAY LOOSE BE SENSIBLE.

When I was 13 I dated an 18 year old...for quite some time. We never 'did it', just had loads of fun.

Also, a friend of mine had a kid at 12. Then another at 15. It's all about the person, not the age, but to be 'proper', you should probably wait a while. When she does get to be old enough, you'll probably be in love with someone else by then...

However, your attraction probably IS natural...don't most boys peep at whatever they can peep at? (Sisters in showes, etc.?)

Still...stay away.

There's too much of a gap between 12 and 16. The gap widens when the 4 years is between the ages of16 and 20. Soon, you'll be 20 and she'll still be a teenager. Does that put things into perspective for you?

Now, I know 4 years difference isnt much (theres 4 between mysef and my hubby). However, at 12...shes def too young to be dating a 16 year old. My little sis is 12 and Id go mad if I thought she had a much older boyf, who may (I say MAY) want to do things with her shes not comfortable with. So I reckon stay friends with her and then see how you feel when shes a bit older, say 15 / 16.

It is wrong, wrong, wrong ot talk about breasts and the period of a 12 year old. You sound like a pedophile. What is your problem? Find a girl your own age. This child is too young for you. Leave her alone or you will be in more trouble than you can imagine.

I would not say you had to be worried, but you have to be aware, looks are NOT an indication of maturity plus you are 16 and she is 12, stick with your own age, at least they will understand your problems..

Stay away dude. Be nice to her and in 5-7 years ask her out. Otherwise you're going to get a really bad rep and your family will always wonder about you. Plus, you'll always be the guy who "couldn't get someone his own age". Just keep your mind from going down that road, easier said than done, sure.

I'm guessing you're a guy? Well, actually, it makes no difference, sorry!

I don't think you should be overly alarmed as she is the closest female to you and I suppose you would notice how she is changing.

But at the same time this doesn't sit well with me. I am trying to be understanding, but truth is I can't understand truly.

Try and focus more on girls your own age or older.

Geez, sorry, I don't know what to say, but please take care...
