98 Neon speedometer doesn't work correctly?

Speedometer works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't move. Had a mechanic adjust the cable. Worked for a little while and it back to move somedays and others not moving.

Bad speedo sensor, located someplace on the transmission. Have it checked out...I think you'll find that it's bad or intermittently failing. Hope this helped.
