I heard the 'Harvest' alum, so I've already heard that one and loved it

Ah, Neil is great. If you're looking for albums that are similar to 'Harvest' then you should definitely try the sort-of-sequel (20 odd years later) 'Harvest Moon', as well as his breakthrough album 'After the Goldrush', as well as 'Silver and Gold' and 'MTV Unplugged'. Those are the key acoustic albums of his career and a solid introduction to that side of his music.

A lot of his music is louder and more raucous, especially the music he recorded with Crazy Horse. The live album 'Weld' is a good introduction to his rockier side, and if you like that then I would track down 'Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere', 'Zuma', 'Sleeps with Angels' and 'Tonight's The Night'.

Lastly I would recommend you listen to the first couple of Crosby Stills Nash and Young albums, and then Neil's lost masterpiece 'On The Beach', which contains some of his finest moments imo. In fact, you could buy anything and it would be decent, except for 'Landing on Water' and 'Trans' - to be avoided. Happy listening.

I'd highly recommend the two-disc set "Decade." It will give you a great introduction to Neil's music from 1966 through 1976 -- generally considered his golden era.

He's done a ton of stuff since the mid-70s, of course. His most recent album "Living With War" has been heralded by critics.

Good question about a great songwriter.

"After the Goldrush" was the album prior to Harvest and I'd go for that next. Great album.
