I would say late 50's to early 80's style of clothing. If they didn't specify the exact era, then pick the style you like best. If it was me, I would go on the safe side with one in the middle, either Hippie or Disco, but most likely the Disco.

I think retro means any type of fashion trend that is not currently in style...I would start with the 50s and end it with the 90s.

If it's a theme party or Halloween party dress like they did in a previous decade, the 70's come to mind.

first thought was 60's 70's but i would ask whoever's throwing it. you dont want to show up in 70's when retro actually meant 90's. lol.

dressing is late 60's, 70's and 80's styles...you might want to ask the decade theme..think Austin Powers

go to a store like goowill and look around. Find something from the 70's or 80's and see what you can do with it. don't worry too much about it, just have fun with it and let your personality show.
