There is a ban shipping firewood from Mich or Oh to other states because of the Emerald Ash Borer. This bug is so destructive that if a tree if found with them in it the Dept of Ag cuts down and destroys all ash trees within one mile of that tree. It can be spread to other states in firewood if the firewood is ash. Anyway, other that this quarrentine type control, which isn't working all that well, there is nothing to stop them. Some in the Dept of Ag have said they will destroy nearly 100% of the ash trees in North America
