They have one thing in common, ignorance.

They aren't necessarily related.

You discriminate everyday. When you chose a large coffee instead of a small, you discriminated against the small coffee. I prefer tall women; therefore I discriminate against short women.

Racism is discrimination against any group or race by a group in power.

Stereotype is a caricature of a group based on some of that groups observed characteristics. For instance in Vaudeville, when a comedian told a joke about a Cop, he would use an Irish accent, a joke about a Ragman was a Jewish joke, and a joke about a Pullman Porter was about Blacks.

Prejudice means what it says, you prejudge something. If I say I don't want to eat any Pineapple upside down cake, I am being prejudicial, in that I am assuming I won't like the cake because I don't like Pineapple. I am also discriminating against the cake because I would not choose it to eat.

What I am trying to show is that not all of these things have to do with Race. There is a problem with Racism in Africa between the Hutus and Tutsis. They are both black, but one tribe is in power the other isn't, it is still Racism.
I have been the subject of prejudice, discrimination, and stereotyping my whole life. I call it "Baby Huey Syndrome". Baby Huey was a cartoon character that was extremely large and stupid. I have been larger than my peers my entire life and I was even larger than my 3rd grade teacher. Therefore since I am a large person, I am automatically considered stupid. I prefer doing phone interviews for jobs before doing a face to face interview because people have a hard time believing what my resume says once they see me. I actually was told after I was hired one place that I wouldn't have gotten the job based on my personal interview because one of the interviewers who did not know my area of expertise couldn't believe that I was intelligent enough for the position. Luckily she was just a fill in because the company likes to use 4 interviewers and the other 3 were technical.

Synonym For Prejudice

Well, I tend to treat them as situational synonyms.

Racism is a form of discrimination based on race.

Stereotyping generally refers to culture. LIke the Black rapper or the red-neck with a shot gun.

Prejudice, I believe encompasses all of these. Since you are judging them before you understand the person individually.

I think we should start with the definitions of what each word
means and go from there:

Main Entry: dis·crim·i·na·tion
Pronunciation: dis-"kri-m&-'nA-sh&n
Function: noun
1 a : the act of discriminating b : the process by which two stimuli differing in some aspect are responded to differently
2 : the quality or power of finely distinguishing
3 a : the act, practice, or an instance of discriminating categorically rather than individually b : prejudiced or prejudicial outlook, action, or treatment
synonym see DISCERNMENT

Main Entry: 1prej·u·dice

Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin praejudicium previous judgment, damage, from prae- + judicium judgment -- more at JUDICIAL
1 : injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of one's rights; especially : detriment to one's legal rights or claims
2 a (1) : preconceived judgment or opinion (2) : an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge b : an instance of such judgment or opinion c : an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics

2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

Function: transitive verb
1 : to make a stereotype from
2 a : to repeat without variation : make hackneyed b : to develop a mental stereotype about
- ste·reo·typ·er noun

I think they're all related in the following manner. They all deal
with preconceived notions about a particular group of people,
and these are hard to change. These notions lead to dislike
or hatred of these people, because of who they are from their
physical appearance, without having a chance to examine
what each person is like as an individual. They make collective
judgments on this group of people, which may or may not be
fair. Sure, there are people who reinforce these stereotypes,
and this type of behavior, but the point is, not everyone who
belongs to that same group does. They're all related by the
fact they make assumptions and dislike certain groups of
people, without taking the time to know each individual and
what that individual is really like. That's the fallacy of having
such beliefs. As someone pointed out earlier on the answer
for this question, they're all based on ignorance, and I would
like to add stupidity as well. People shouldn't be liked/loved/
hated/disliked because of what they look like, or whatever
ethnic/racial/gender/sexual preference/political affiliation/
religious affiliation/age/height/weight, or whatever other
demographic you can think of. They should be judged by
their actions and what they really are. Unfortunately there
are fools in the world who look only at the outward appearance,
without taking the time to know the person.

They are all words the stupid masses do not know the definitions for and they have false perceptions about those words. They are also words often parroted by the stupid masses as part of mindless perverted slogans.

Mainly because everything in all said categories gets blamed on white people. We are the easy out for racism; although not all of us are racist.
