getting his CDL isnt the problem finding a job will be there arnt alot of companies that will hire him with a record like that atleast not now any way in about 5-7 years after he has been released he wont have a problem but i do know of 1 company that mite help him out
Arrow Trucking Company in Tulsa Oklahoma they do flatbed so its alot of work sometimes but it doesnt pay bad either but other then Arrow i dont know who mite hire him and im not sure they will and his crime isnt helping any either if it were growing pot its not a big deal but he stole something and trucking compaines arnt to willing to let someone with a record like that take a $120,000 truck home and haul a $100,000 dollar load im not saying he would steal the truck or the load or any thing but that is what the companies are gonna think so tell him to prepare for rejection and to think of a back up plan because i dont think any body is gonna hire him with that kinda felony.

sorry its not good news but atleast you know more now

He can more than likely obtain a CDL but employment might be a challenge. There are many companies out there that don't check but many do. He'll just have to do a lot of searching if he wants to get employment. Not impossible! Won't be able to go into Canada though as they check you at the border.

He can still obtain his CDL, and still get a job. My friend has a felony and just obtained his CDL and got a nice paying job.

honestly you probable wont have problem with the CDL, yet with the HazMat endorsement there's a federal historic past screening, and with a legal you won't bypass it, and maximum trucking agencies won't hire you in case you haven't any longer have been given a hazmat.

Yeah he can ,but,,,, most places won't hire him he will prob only be able to get crappy jobs. Sorry but most places are so strict about hiring no days. Mostly the Small owner/ op company's will hire him. low wages, no benefits, crappy hours etc... ...
Unless he wants to buy his own truck...Once again Sorry but most Commercial companies run screaming from a felony conviction for liability issues...

I think it depends on his additude, his honesty, and the employer. Plenty of employers are adimant that they will not hire convicted felons.
