I am in full agreement, parents now days just let their kids run wild, it is pathetic. I have 2 grown boys, and they were always well behaved because of supervision, and discipline.

It's true that the kids "just want attention", but the trouble is that they want attention CONSTANTLY, and parents who give their kids attention constantly end up with spoiled brats who believe that everyone in the world will treat them like that.
A little ignoring is good for a kid. Helps him/her realize that s/he's not the most important thing on the planet.

Oh come on! No child is going to act like an angel in the emergency room. First of all, it's the most unfriendly place in the world, and the wait can be excruciating. When you have children we'll see how you manage with you perfectly attentive children. lol..

They are so caught up in them selves and they ignore that children have feelings, But remember that it is an emergency room - they might be sick and you know how u get when ur sick, ur out of strength and ur tired. But atleast you know what kind of mom ur not gonna be.
Take care

I have ex-friends that are like that, but they also ignore their daughter at home, keep her in their room all day long and let her watch movies, and she skips alot of meals too. I think their rationale is that they just don't want to be parents. They want to be out doing their own thing without being tied down by their daughter, which is very unfortunate.

Because kids do that constantly day in and day out, so it just starts to sound like background noise.

Because parents hardly ever have time to read magazines, so they take advantage of the opportunity.

Because a lot of people think of their kids as just sophisticated pets and never learn to appreciate them as real people.

Because their parents just need their own time. Anbd you can't give your kid 100% attention all the time.

In the emerency room, they're worried for th one who's got problem, and ignore their children.
They don't have the time for them, or they just don't want to have time for them at that moment, and expect the kids to sit down and shut up.
