Do you think putting something like a red CSO (for convicted sex offender) on convicted sex offenders driver's license or id would help track and identify them when they do not register with their local police department as they are suppose to? People have to show id when they rent apartments and cash checks. Or do you think that would be unfair? If you answer please be civil without resorting to profanity.

I said sex offenders not jaywalkers or shoplifters.

And I didn't say anything about putting anything on someone's forehead.

I feel this would be a great idea. I fell that if they are able to give up their morality by being a sex offender then they could be labeled as one. I hate those that won't register like they are suppose to. If I lived next to one or found out that there was one close and was not registered then my right as a free american citizen would be violated.

"Fozzie Bear is full of crap because i know guys who've rapped girls and got a way with it molested children and they are not registered... so yes actuall the sex offenders should be executed if you ask me... "

That has zero to do with what Fozzie said. Raping a person, or molesting a child is NO WHERE near the same as what he was talking about. The rapists and child molesters are on a completely different plane of existence, than his examples. This is why the term "Sex Offender" is too vague.

Would you punish someone the same for going 5 miles over the speed limit on a highway, as someone driving 40 miles over in a residential neighborhood? Of course you wouldn't.

Why should a 15 year old boy be labled a sex offender for the rest of his life for having consentual sex with his 16 year old g/f? But nothing happens with the girl? How is that ANYWHERE near the same as a 45 year old uncle fondling his 5 year old niece?

An Average sex offender will violate at least 100 ppl. And also 1 in 3 women are assaulted in there life time look in a room and count women 1, 2, 3 she's assaulted rapped, etc.. 1 in 4 boys. so come on these ppl are overlooked they wont do it... but they find other victims who wont tell or they wont get caught... its sick

they should do everything to stop them!!! and kill them as well i should make a religion out of it....

If all sex offenders were dangerous, yes. What you need to realize that this label is stuck on people who make one bad mistake.

A man at a party fondles a woman's breasts while both are drunk. She later decides she didn't like it, and she files charges. He is labeled a sex offender. Should that one mistake ruin his entire life?

A girl in high school reaches over and twists a boy's breast during an argument. He does the same back to her. HE is labeled a sex offender, but she is not.

I know the people in these two cases. They made one stupid mistake and now their lives are ruined. Is that fair to you? Do you think their lives don't suck enough now?

For true pedophiles, yes, no punishment is harsh enough. However, not every "sex offender" is a danger to society. Remember, being charged could happen to someone you love. Not all people found guilty of a charge really are guilty.

Be careful what you wish for...

I think it's a great idea, ONLY if the person has seriously been convicted of a serious offense. If someone has committed an act of stupidity, then no, just because the embarrassment of the fact should be enough to bear.

NO. When any check is run on them by the appropriate person there is a message that accompanies their file.

Also, thats what the Watchdog program offers you. After they find a place to live they are added to the online program so you can see their wearabouts and convictions.

It would not effect the person at the grocery store who needs to cash their check if they were a Sex. Predator. Nor would it make a difference if they had to show thier license at a bank or something. The police dept. does their part by offering the site nationwide online. It is up then to the citizens to inform themselves and take precautions and make themselves aware.

Why stop at Sex offenders. Why not a symbol for convicted shoplifter or thief or J walker.

What would be on YOUR forehead?

Should all shoplifters have to wear a special hat when they shop?

Should all convicted drug dealers be made to wear a t-shirt that proclaims they are dealers?

Putting a notice on a license will not make any difference. All criminals should be sent to NJ.

You people sound like the Scarlett Letter. We shouldn't have to brand people, or else we'd all be walking around with whats wrong with us. Just like the book, then all people who comit adultry should wear a big red 'A'...murders 'M'? No I think not. Licence maybe, but nothing on them.

No--that's pretty primitive. And what about family members (not all sex offenders are loners) who have to ride in that vehicle?
