Without slavery, I don't think we would be at the tolerance level we have for other cultures. While we do have racial issues, working with Indians, blacks and the large influx of immigrants the US had in the early 20th century, we've come quite a long way. Without having fought over human rights, we would never have designed such great documents as the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. I think we are fairly advanced in our way of thinking even though we have our problems. There are some countries who are prejudice (and it is not all of the people in the country) against other cultures. I think as Americans we are seen as tolerant, but pompous. I think human rights was the biggest positive result from slavery.

If human beings had never enslaved one another, there would be no such things as "luxury" or "culture". Slavery created leisure time. If other people could NOT be forced to work for no pay, then everyone would have to work equally hard to provide for themselves and their dependents, and the world would likely be a lot more boring to look at as a result.
Slavery enabled slave owners to have enough leisure time to look around and think: "Hm... that wall would look wonderful with a large fresco on it," or, "Hey! Look at all this surplus grain I can sell at a profit!"
Without slave labor many of the "wonders of the world" would not exist. Many famous works of art in the ancient world were created by slaves at the behest of their owners; many musicians were also slaves. You get the idea.
I am by no means a proponent of slavery, just answering your question. And I hope my answer is helpful. :)

Do you really think there was anything positive in slavery .And don't just think it was black people who were slaves .Remember anyone who was in indentured labour was a slave .That include white people as well..Most of the white people in the West Indies today are descendants of slaves .Same as Australia. But because they were white they were called prisoners Even in England there was slavery .In the olden days the lord of the manor had his servants .the lord could have the mans wife when he liked Isn't that slavery .So what positiveness came out of that then .Not the Answer you were looking for was it

All jobs get done. In an open job market it is difficult to find someone to be a cleaner, as most people think it is below them. You could discipline them properly to make sure they worked hard enough?
Other than that, I'm afraid I'm struggling to find any positives.

Well, it's hard to say, but you can say that the slaves got far more work done for the Europeans, than if the Europeans had done the work themselves.
