I've done a lot of hiking in the Rocky Mountains, Black Hills, and other mountain areas, but one of my favorite places is Islands in the Sky at Canyonlands National Park in Utah. The sandstone fins in nearby Arches National Park are also a great deal of fun.

Zion united states park in Utah has some somewhat great day hikes. The Narrows hike and Angels landing are 2 of the main enticing hikes I easily have ever taken. once you're finding for something longer, the Angeles Crest highway path in So Cal is excellent too! Sorry, i do no longer understand the GPS of any of those hikes, i do no longer even have GPS in my motor vehicle yet!

Sedona and Grand Canyon (both in Arizona) hands down. It's so pretty with the red rocks in Sedona and views at the Grand Canyon are incredible once you get down a little ways on the South Kaibab trail (South Rim). Don't take Bright Angel down as it has limited views and too many people.
Sedona has more trails than any other place I've ever been. We always seem to find beautiful trails and great views of the Red Rocks. Only the most popular trails are really busy. Most of the other ones you'll see very few people.

Last October my four sons and I took a four day backpack hike into the Grand Canyon. Words are not adequate to describe the vista/scenery all the way in, and there, and back out. We entered on the Kaibab Trail and came out on the Bright Angel. The Colorado River and streams feeding it were refreshing on a daily basis. The day hikes into some obscure canyons were spectacular. We saw lots of wildlife and have photos and memories for a life time. If you are healthy and hardy enough, it is a one-of-a-kind hike. One tip: be certain you take/use treking poles. Good hiking.

We like to hike in the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Beautiful scenery! I also have hiked in the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota.

Two Places, the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah Natl Park, and Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmarron NM.
I have hiked all of the AT in MD, most of it in VA and a decent chunk in ME. I just completed 80 miles in Philmont with my 17 year old son.

The best hiking experience for me has been at Mount Ranier National Park. Going to the glacier was awesome.
