People who use the term: "Take me as I am"; are the most selfish individuals to be around. Bottom line, they are unwilling and unyielding in relationships with others. They project negative thoughts and behavior, by justifying their actions with the words: "Take me as I am". Just think if everyone felt the same way; how crazy it would be driving on the streets, friendship and worse in a relationship with someone you loved.

I tend to interpret it as "for the love of whatever you hold dear, if you're going to have a relationship with me, have it with ME, as I am RIGHT NOW, and NOT with whatever you think you can turn me into." How many times have we heard the story of a woman marrying a man and then trying to change everything about him? It doesn't work, and if you aren't happy with the person as they are RIGHT NOW, there's no point in having a relationship with them.
