What the hell are you talking about? I don't know who ever told you that but you are way off...more like the exact opposite....You don't have to be anything to be goth...goth is just goth.

No, you do not have to be a Christian to be a Goth. Some may consider me to be both, although I do not like labels. Like it or not, the truth is, no one can escape labels. Goth is not about the way people dress either. That is a stereotype. Goth is much deeper than that. If you are a Christian Goth go to the website below for a more detailed explanation.

No. Your religion has nothing to do with it. No one these days is truly "Gothic". Goth is not a style or the new fab that most teenagers seem to be going trough these days. Goth was a time period and a way of life. The word 'Gothic' is very old, and was used from the Renaissance to signify the art style of the Middle Ages. so the "style" and work dont go together. Black make up, back clothes, and really sad extremely pale kids is not goth.

Hi,

The original Goths were devoutly Christian and their infamous sacking of Rome was really a pretty peaceful protest, they were protesting because they were driven out of their homeland and lacked anywhere to settle.

The modern phenomenon of Goth not connected to Christianity but a sub-culture that started in the UK`in the 1970s. Its fashion employed Christian religious symbols as a means of displaying an existential crisis in reaction to nihilism, hoping to expose hypocrisy and blindness in present culture.

There may be a connection between this modern culture and a period of architectural style, connected with Romanticism, which might be viewed as a reaction against previous standards of taste.

Hope that helps PP

Hello, um no. goth is just a group of ppl that think they have spcial powers or dress in black or have lots of chains or wrist bands or funnkie style hair cuts or doos. Then they go and get lots of piercing and tatoos. Ppl dont seem to realize the goth look is so Over. They just look like the night of the living dead. It just says i want to stand out so every one can stare at me, then i can think well i must be invisible to all the other ppl becuase im stoned or trying to live in the past of the bands that dressed up in all black, and not just for halloween. Goth is not a religion, u can be whatever religion u want to be and still be goth, if u dress that way then dont try and hide it from your church, thats who u choose to be. Dont hide it from god if thats what your trying to do. he sees how u act all the time, not just one day of the week.
