My first guess would be that the car thinks you drive too slowly. On a more serious note, the three most likely causes I can think of would be, in order, a sticking accelerator (gas pedal) cable, a malfunctioning sensor, or a glitch in the computer. Another possibility would be a shorting wire somewhere. Good luck!

Bad sensor, bad computer chip, sticky cables from the accelerator/cruise control module/ idle control cables.
