Hello. First of all, thanks to all that helped with my last question " 93 Seville 4.9 PO12". I appreciate.
Well to the next question, My Caddy is surging at idle and while I drive. When I stop she seems to want to drive right through the brakes and the rpm dont wont to fall off. I find if aI brake very slowly and bring her down slow there will be a point when she just all of the sudden drops the revs and calms down. Other times she just keeps screaming. It will actually gain speed on its own without touching the accelerator. Even shifting to neutral and stomping it to kick it down doesnt always work. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm thinking this problem's electronic and not mechanical. Take your car to a shop that can hook it up to a diagnostic computer. I'm not familiar with Sevilles but my guess is a bad sensor or chip that regulates RPMs. Also look into the idle contol cables mentioned above, but I think you'll find they're ok. One other possibility...malfunctioning cruise control module. Good Luck

First off, is the check engine light on? Second, are you mechanically inclined? If no on first, it is most likely a vaccuum leak, do a visual inspection on all the lines and hoses for cracks or loose clamps. If the light is on, pretty sure thats standard GM system and you should be able to jumper accross the ALDL connector with a wire or bent paperclip, then watch the codes flash on the dash. you should get 3 12's, followed by codes, then 12's again after that.
If you are lost so far, then you will want to have a technician check it out. But one thing to do first, always call a dealer service dept. and ask them if they could run your VIN# to see if your vehicle has any open recalls, there also could be service bulletins relative to the problem, they may know just being it's common repair for the model. Be surprised how many things can get fixed free just by making a phone call! Good luck!

There is an idle control system connected to the throttle by cables. Replace it.
