If I won the lottery I wouldn't buy anything.

Instead I would make an offer to people who have been laid off.
If they would spend time reading the Bible from cover-to-cover with me I would make a gift to them for their time.

I've had a huge dream of reading the Bible from cover-to-cover with small groups of people (but aiming for about 850 altogether) almost since the first time I read it on my own.

In 1992 I was going through an unwanted divorce and things were really bad at work. One Sunday morning before church I knelt by my bed and started praying "Lord, I just want ...." I really didn't know what I wanted other than for the pain to be gone. I believe the Holy Spirit finished my prayer for me "... to read the Bible from cover-to-cover. Will you arrange the time and the money."

Two days later my whole department got laid off. My co-workers managed to find better jobs in spite of bad economic times but I used my 15 weeks of severance pay to stay home reading the Bible. It turned out to be the BEST thing I've done in my life. It was so good that I couldn't put it down and I finished it in 90 days.

Now I read a Bible each year and keep learning. It makes me want to share the Good News with others.

Finally pay off my mortgage, set up an account for my kids future, send my parents on a cruise and buy them a cottage, donate some money for a scholarship and for myself buy a new Dodge 4x4 and head off to a Nascar race. I would still have to work because I am not one who could sit around all day. I guess I better find a good accountant too. Have a great day.

I would rent about 5 of the biggest U-haul trucks, go on a shopping spree at Toys-R-Us. Then go to the childrens hospital and give out toys to all the children. When they are stuck in a hospital, a new toy or the hottest new video games helps take thier mind of off what they are going through. I would rather hand the toys to them myself so i could see the joy in thier little faces.

I'd buy a huge mansion and rent it out to some Saudi Prince for twice the going rate then slowly but surely I'd shut off his natural gas.
