I've been searching the major travel sites for hotels, but there are so many different areas within Chicago from which to choose, and I don't want to end up getting a hotel far from the places on my itinerary.

It's rather confusing to someone who isn't familiar with the area.
Safety is our main concern, so I'd like to know which hotels offer safe, convenient parking at little or no cost.

We are a young couple, so we're looking for a budget hotel and aren't concerned with luxury since we will barely be there anyways. I just want a clean, safe room with a decent shower (hotel showers always suck).

These are some of the places we'll be visiting, so let me know what area I should look for:

Riviera club
Twisted Spoke
Lincoln Park Zoo
Hard Rock
The Cheescake Factory
Bachelors Grove Cemetery
Navy Pier
Mexican Fine Arts Center
The Alley
Nocturnal Dominion
Medusa's Circle
Layer
Ragstock
Silver Moon
Hancock Observatory
Chinatown
Greektown
Buckingham Fountain

Whoa I have no idea why people are saying to stay on the Mag Mile. Thats wayyy expensive. I work in one of those stores you're wanting to go to hah thats funny, but yeah stay somewhere north of Michigan Ave. I.E. Lincoln Park, Lakeview. If you say somewhere on Clark St you can take the 22 or the 36 bus to any of the places downtown for 2 bucks a peice. So thats not so bad. Also you can get weekend public trans passes for like 12 dollars if you're going to be going around a lot. Its worth it. You can buy them at any Dominicks or Currency Exchange, And if you stay in Lakeview there is a currency exchange pretty much on the corner of Clark and Belmont.

There is a Best Western downtown within walking distance of most of your destinations. Is reasonable for downtown and has excellent accomodations. I've stayed there a couple times.
Be sure when in chicago to go to the Four Seas greek restaurant. Outstanding food and service, but brush up on your greek. Also hit the Chicago Blues on Western Street (you'll want to drive/take a cab) for the hottest blues in town. Never know who will drop in and jam. I've seen some huge names in jazz and blues just walk in and sit in with the house band unannounced. Go south to Chinatown too. Chicago has one of the best. Field museum, museum of science and industry, and the adler planetarium, and the shedd aquarium are all just blocks from the motel too. Check out the garfield zoo, too. Ride the El trains through town. The Sears tower has an even better view than the John Hancock. Have Fun!

Delaware Towers
25 East Delaware Place
Chicago, Illinois 60611

Call 1-866-608-9330

Right downtown just off the Magnificent Mile by the water tower. This is a very very pricey part of town but the towers are around $75 a night. Call to be sure!!!!

Your room is like an appt. With a small kitchen with fridge. Living room with a sofa/pull out bed. 1 bedroom. This is where we stay when we go to Chicago.

No hotel downtown is going to offer free or "reasonably priced" parking. Be prepared to spend $12 to $20 per day in parking fees there, and more parking fees anytime you drive to a restaurant, club, museum, etc. (Are you really sure you need a car at all? Chicago has wonderful public transportation! You can even take the train right from the airport to downtown!)

You've listed places all over the city. I would suggest staying at hotel downtown (like in the loop area) because you'll have access to a lot of public transportation that will be helpfully in getting to places you've listed.

ur all over the city, and like the others said downtown would be ur best option. but parking wont come cheap. House of Blues would be spectaculer. but if ur on a budget then check out the gold coast hotle on 1800 north Clark st. enjoy our great city!
