What are you asking here? And WHY are you asking? These are YOUR WORDS so you tell me what you should do.............. "I have been with my partner for 4 years, for 3 years we were long distance" (sounds pretty lousy to me) "he returns home, every weekend and he , started an affair with a lady in his home town. I found out, as there were late texts and he suddenly had a password to his cell phone." (so why didn't you break up with him immediately?) "has been going out and getting very drunk" (does that sound responsible to you?) "I contacted the other lady, and she was shocked as he told her we had broken up." (so he's lying to other women too. what a guy.) "he has rang me very drunk, saying he misses me, and to try again. But, i have just found out, that they met again" (so he misses you when he's drunk, but sees her when he's sober and SHE agrees?) He is still in contact with this other woman (doesn't sound like she's worried about being a rebound to me!) You do what you want, but if this was your best friend telling you all this, I think we both know what kind of advice you'd be giving her. So I am not sure of what kind of words of encouragement that you're hoping to hear. YES this can be worked out? C'mon! I think the better question to ask yourself is WHY you would want to work things out!

You are trying to convince everyone you are perfect, and yet you are single. Stop trying to tell everyone what a great guy you are and go out there and show it. A confident guy would never have to list his own attributes. They are there for all to see. Do some work on building up your confidence and stop looking so hard. Sounding desperate is not appealing to a woman
