Coconut oil is best used for cooking. It can withstand higher temperatures than all other cooking oils without going through the transformation into a carcinogenic toxin. If you are frying with corn oil and there's smoke coming from the oil then it is too hot and is changing chemical composition. Now it is really bad for you. Coconut oil does not do this.
