Since you want to know, go ahead and find out. It's your decision, not everyone else's. If they are going to be annoyed about you finding out, just don't tell them what you are having. Some people will be annoyed no matter what you do. You can't please everyone.

I decided not find out the sex of my baby before he was born. So many people were annoyed because I did not. They constantly bugged me about it because they didn't know what to get for a gift. Just do what you want and don't worry about everyone else. You can't make everyone happy.

If YOU want to know then find out. Don't worry about what anyone else says. I wanted the surprise and did not find out for all 4 of my children. I have a friend who just had a baby 4 months ago and they told her she was having a girl for her whole pregnancy....and she had a beautiful BOY. You are getting the 4D scan so it should be more accurate, but be aware that it happens often...

I agree w/ you, it is best to be prepared. I have found out w/ both of my babies, and I plan to w/ this one too. You have to do an ultra-sound, you might as well find out while their looking around. As for those of your friends & relatives that want to be suprised, if they don't want to know the sex, they don't have to, just keep it a secret & they can still have the suprise.
Also, remember that the baby can hear you in the womb. How great is it that once you find out the sex, you can pick a name and start calling it by the name before it's even born. For me that just made it all the more wonderful and real to have this little person already inside me.

Personally I think it's more practical to know the sex of the baby but alot of people just want it to be a surprise. You're so lucky getting a 4D scan, I'd love one but they're too expensive & I can't afford it.
I'd suggest you find out the sex if you want to & if others don't want to know then just don't tell them simple as that.
Good luck & I hope you have a good scan :o)

hiya i have 4 children and baby 5 is on way.
this time i decided to find out the sex of the baby ,
like yourself everyone told me to wait it would ruin the surprise etc but i can 100% say its the best decision for me.
i feel i have really bonded with this baby already and im only 18weeks, seeing him was amazing and knowing he was a he was so great
now i have plenty of time to get ready for him and i love buying all the blue bits, when u do not know you tend to buy yellow, cream or white then replace it all when its born TWICE THE EXPENSE

well this has to be you decision hunni but I'm sure you ll make the right 1 for YOU try not to listen to to many negative ppl .

good luck

That is entirely your decision, personally I'm with the old fashioned brigade and waited until my baby arrived to find out what the sex was... Although I had a feeling all along I was carrying a boy and I was right! I didn't actually choose a girls name (just incase) till I was on my way to the hospital I was so convinced!

If you want to find out then do it, if it annoys other people then tough! They'll just have to get over it won't they?

I had a 4d scan and they are excellent! I didnt want to know the sex of my baby but have you had a look around for unisex baby items!! We found out at the scan it was a girl and were able to buy all things pretty,I say go for it,its your baby anyway!!

Don't worry about what other people will say. It is your baby, not theirs and ultimately any decision about your baby will be by you.
I think it's best to find out the sex, that way you can properly buy things for your baby. Bc if you don't know, the only colors you can get things in will be yellow and mint green....yuck! I think that either way, it is a suprise...whether you wait till he/she is born or whether you find out now. You didn't know until you found out so whenever you do, it will be a suprise.

If you wanna find out ask when you go for your scan. By the way the 4d ones are great! I had one when I was pg. If people don't want to know don't tell them and for the people you do tell just remember to ask them to keep it a secret from the ones who don't want to know. I did this coz my Mum, Nan and a few others didn't want to know. It worked and every one was happy knowing/not knowing. All the best.

I am now 23 wks pregnant and i found out what the sex was even though every one said to not find out .
But i dont think it has spoiled it at all infact its like having a real little person there and i have had lots of fun buying cute outfits.
At the end of the day it has got nothing to do with any one else its you and your partners choice.
