Harold Shipman, here in England, got 218, but then killed himself. Surely this must count as an 'away goal' and therefore be detracted off his total, ie he only got 217. Who do I petition to get the records set straight? Is it the Guiness book themselves?
(by the way, don't be impressed by his total; he was a doctor, and basically only killed people who he treated, I don't think that really counts as proper serial killing as I understand the term, maybe they should start a new category for him, what are your thoughts? as a side issue)

I don't believe there is actually a section in the ever growing book of worlds records, but I have yet to read a "complete" one. The following was cut and pasted from the link I've provided (you can read more there):
