Details: Father left at age 7, she took care of younger siblings, stepfather molested and beat kids, husbands all physically and emotionally punished and beat, because of this a relative has been able to mind control for 40+ years for her own advantage only and may be mentally ill with absolutely no christian beliefs or good human qualities.

Have alot of patience ans stand by her no matter what decision she makes. When a person has been abused it takes alot of time to recover and it is usually in small steps. I was abused by my husband and then My son took over when he died. I am one of the lucky ones I have a very understanding partner who talks to me or just listens when I need him too. It is hard to learn to make decisions when for so long other people made them for me. Either literally or by "controlling" me. Never knowing if the decision I was going to make would get me hurt. If possible counseling if you find a good one helps. Good LUCK and never give up on her, she is worth it, nomatter what she may think or feel at this time.

This person needs councelling for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. (PTSD). She/he needs to realize that there's more to life than abuse, which apparently her/his mother didn't. The mother probably grew up in an abusive situation, then married her Dad...Another abuser. Why? Because she thought that's the way of life, and if your friend doesn't get some councelling soon, she/he will do the same.

Does she want help? Because nothing will really work unless she wants to get out of it. Therapy for starters for the abuse and batterings. I dont know where you are, but I know the YWCA does a lot with abuse, it may be a place to start and go from there as far as medication and social services. My heart goes out to her, I will keep her in my prayers.

She needs prayer, to be under a doctor's care, guidance counselling... all the love, understanding & support that she can get from family & friends... & a nice, peaceful (but fun-filled) vacation wouldn't hurt either.

Actually, in a situation like that. The only solution is to pray.

You should be far far away from that kind of person and be the opposite of what he is.
