There is no universal answer. Just as some 16 year olds are ready for the responsibility of a drivers license, some are not. My wife and I had our first (and only) child when I was 34. If he feels that he is too young, maybe he is just being responsible and saying that he isn't ready for the awesome responsibility that comes with bringing a new life into this world. I applaud him for his responsible act. You have plenty of time to start a family. I can understand that you may hear your biological clock ticking, but, my wife was 40 when my son was born... so you have plenty of time. The key here is open and honest communication between the two of you. Talk about it, listen to his concerns, and compromise. Perhaps setting a goal of beginning to try in the next couple of years or so might be a good compromise.
I wish you both all the luck in the world. Being a parent is the greatest thrill of all.

There is no perfect age to start a family. Whenever someone is ready, they will feel it. Some people don't ever feel it.
I am currently 33, 3 1/2 years, with my wife for 8 years. We have no plans to have children anytime soon (she's 26 by the way, 27 in a couple weeks). I don't feel any urgency to have kids right now, I am happy with the two of us and being able to do whatever we wanted whenever. Once kids arrive, your entire lives change. There is hardly any chance for spontaneity, because you have to decide where the children will be, babysitter, with you, grandparents.

Well..I am 43 and I just had a baby 18 months ago..and i would tell every woman, don't have kids after 38-39...somehow it seems much harder..have them when you are young and financially stable...and more tolerant and patient. that's all.
you guys should have kids by the time you are 34 or 35 don't wait too long.
don't have kids until you are ready to sacrifice and give up a lot. cause kids are a big responsibility..make sure you and your husband feel the same way.

Hi,, it is more a personal choice than knowing just what age you should.... Any age is fine, as long as the guy is mature enough to handle the responsibility,, I know I was 35 myself.. now i am 52 and thinking about trying to start a family again...
good luck

Maybe he is not comfortable with you being the future mother of his kids. I found out too late that my ex should not have been the mother of my kids. That is why she is now my ex. You need to have a serious and honest conversation about your future together. You can never plan for anything. You could walk out tomorrow and get hit by a bus. If you are ready together, you are ready.

I believe that you should express to him how much you want a child. If he loved you enough to marry you then he surely loves you enough to give you a baby.
