No, you are not racists. There's is a big difference between being 'racist' and having preferences.

Racist means that some other genetic code is inferior to your own, that they are the cause of your problems and should be treated with scorn, to say the least.

You're just uncomfortable with said race. I'm assuming that you haven't had a lot of contact wih them before, so you are naturally causious. It's a normal reaction to anything new. And it's perfectly natural to want to be around similar cultures at yourself. You don't know anything about them. You don't know what is polite and good in their culture. You sort of feel like you're "put on the spot"
That is why I come to Yahoo. We are an internet culture of answer seekers/givers Give it time,

Hmmm...I'd say prejudiced. But it's cool. No one's mad at you. I don't think people sit at the dinner table saying, "I really hope I can make some friends with some people of other cultures." If it happens it happens. Don't force it. If you want to hang with your own, you've got that right. Just be respectful and try not to put anyone's culture down. That's where we get into trouble.

Prost!

You have a strong sense of culture which is very good, but keep an open mind and heart with regards to others, they are human too. People are generaly afraid of what they dont know or understand and this is natural part of survival, but not always nessesary

Well i dont think you are rascist, its easier to get along with the people you are used to and u know. Im not English, but i feel i can be more myself and connect with english people than my own culture, because im so used to them.
Its nice you r giving those people a chance, it'll take alot of time till you accept them as your friends.. its natural to feel like tht.. dont beat your self about it!!

No, you're not a racist.

You'd be saying things like 'I'm uncomfortable', or 'they're taking over', or 'how do I stop my kids bringing them in?'

Nothing wrong with being comfortable amongst your own kind in a culture that you understand

No. A racist has unproven ignorant views of any one different then themselves. Does that describe you? I prefer my own too,but being that I am mixed up with different cultures, I AM ABLE TO SEE OUTSIDE THE BOX !!

I don't think you're a racist based off what you've said. I'm the same way. It's so uncomfortable being around people of other races for me that I just don't like it. You never know what they are thinking or how they view people of your ethnicity. I'd prefer to either be alone, or be with my people.

If you stick to your own because you hate others then you're racist. If you simply prefer them because you don't know others or are shy, heck no! If people think you are, they are probably racist or scared of you.

From a very unracist person who loves everyone!!!

Birds of a feather flock together...its easier to be around people you feel you have some sort of connection or common ground with.

I don't think you are a terrible person, but be sure to keep on giving them a chance.

If you are racist then you cant tolerate someones racial origins or skin color (not religion thats not a race).
I have some asylum seekers in my street but loads in my area and Im used to it.
They eat, they pee and bleed like you.
You,ll get used to it :)
