I have a question. Why does EVERYONE (in the entire world it seems) hate Jeff Gordon? I mean, I understand he can be a bit of a cry baby but for goodness sakes people he's the winningest (is that a word?) racing today!

If you've ever been to a NASCAR race you know that Jeff's fan base is huge. From the lines at the sales trailers to the fans wearing apparel it seems like it is about 30% Jeff, 30% Jr. 30% Tony and 10% everyone else combined.

I'm just tired of hearing the same old garbage about both of them. It also bothers me to see so many people say they "hate" a driver. That is such a strong statement. Most of the people on here have never met either driver so how can they make such statements? And no, I don't think they are using "hate" as just a word.

I am a huge Gordon fan so I admit I'm biased but I disagree with the statement that he whines all the time. I'm tired of people turning every statement he makes into a whine. Even the interview last week where Jeff praise Jr. was turned into a whine by some on Yahoo. As far as complaining about his own teammates not moving out of his way, I think that is a very valid point. If you are faster and you are in the Chase, your teammates of all drivers should get out of your way.

I think one reason why so many people dislike Jeff Gordon is because it seems like he came to Nascar and immediately began taking over. Since he earned 7 top five finishes and 11 top tens in his first season and won his first championship only 2 years later, it may seem that way. However, it was not without a lot of hard work. He began driving at the age of 5 and won his first Quarter Midget Grand National Championship at only 9. Since he is only 35 years old and has more championships than any other active driver (only Richard Petty and Dale Earnhart Sr. have more with 7 Championships each), he has many more championships ahead.

Hate is such a strong word so I am going to say strongly dislike. And the reason why so many Nascar fans strongly dislike Jeff Gordon is because nothing is ever his fault and the other drivers need to move out of his way. Jeff acts as if he's the best thing in Nascar since sliced bread.

Mark Martin may not have a championship but you talk to any driver and you'll discover that they respect Mark more than Jeff! And that is because of how Jeff treats the other drivers. For crying out loud...Jeff complained that his own teammates wouldn't move out of his way, yet he wonders why he doesn't have friends when it comes to the restrictor plate races!! Dale Jr tried to help him get to the front yet what did Jeff do...he went and complained and blamed his wreck on Dale Jr!

I respect and applaud Jeff for all that he has accomplished but that does not mean I have to like him nor be a fan! Sorry...I'd rather cheer on someone who has a great head on their shoulder than someone who acts as if they are the second coming of greatness and that everyone should bow down to him.

people are scepticle about him... i used to hate him because he did nothin but whine a few years back but to tell you the truth he has gotten a lot better since teresa left him in 2002. i really dont think that people should like him just because hes the most winningest driver but people should like him for his personality and thats how i was with rusty wallace most of my life. Sure he didnt win that often but he was consistant and he wasnt scared to tell it how it is. Jeff Gordon is a good driver and his personality has improved so much. i cant say the same for Jimmie Johnson though.

the excellent present day ever. I in simple terms lower back from trip and the race become the 1st ingredient I watched as quickly as I have been given domicile. With Gordon being my well-known driving force it become the excellent present day ever for me thinking it become driving me insane no longer having the flexibility to computer screen the race at Martinsville and the beginning up of Texas. Congrats Jeff. To undesirable that his spouse and daughter ought to no longer be with him in Victory Lane however. it quite is is the 1st of many wins for Jeff Gordon and a championship opposition over lower back!!

Not only is he a cry baby, but he also loves to put the blame on other drivers for his mistakes. He never admits to being wrong, and he thinks that his teammates are just supposed to let him by on the track. The main reason people hate him is because he whines too much, and he's way overrated, Atleast I think so. I'll never like that man...He's not the most winning driver on the circuit either. If you're talking about wins now, You gotta say Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, and Kasey Kahne. Jeff isn't near as good as he once was.

Hate is a pretty strong word and a true racing fan wouldn't HATE Jeff Gordon. He certainly isn't my favorite driver but I respect what he has accomplished in the sport. Non of the active drivers can claim as much success as he has achieved in the Cup Series.

The reason people despise him, in my opinion, is because he has won so much which takes away from their driver. I find this to be true for a good portion of the Dale Earnhardt Jr fans. Not all, but a good portion. The other reason he isn't liked as well is his attitude at times. Lately it seems he has to blame others and whine about things more and more. I guess the pressure of the fifth title is getting to him.

he's the winningest ACTIVE driver, there are 2 drivers lifetime with more wins, Richard Petty and i believe Dale Earnhardt but i think he may have passed Dale. I'm definatly a gordon and johnson fan, hate jr. marlin among others. I believe by the end of his career he will have the most career wins and championships.

They're jealous that he is the most winningest active driver! So they find negative things to say about him because he is better than their favorite driver. Well he is a great driver and who cares if he "whines" or whatever he is still one of the best racecar drivers ever.

I just came on here to ask the same question~I'M SO SICK AND TIRED OF JEFF AND JIMMIE JOHNSON being booed and people showing them the finger. Gee, people, they are out there racing and risking their lives to entertain asses like yall.I think they are awesum and I would NEVER boo any driver, but I do think Junior is WAY overated and the only one that should be booed is Vickers for taking out 2 Chase contenders last week. I'm going to the Cup race this Sat in Charlotte and I'll be screaming my lungs out for Jeff and Jimmy>and my daughters will too!!!!!
