you could ask the same of every religion, having faith isn't a crime. i myself am a catholic and have been bought up in an Irish catholic family and for many years i followed things to the book. when i got older and started to make my own decisions i began to miss out parts of the teachings and like most people with faith felt guilty about that, on going to confession i was told that times have changed and you cannot be expected to live exactly as it was when the bible was written. faiths evolve just like humans. going to confession doesnt mean you can do anything and get told its ok, you go when you truly want to pay pennance for something you have done, the point is that when you are truly sorry and deserve forgiveness God will accept you. whether you or anyone else believes this does not bother me, i believe everyone should have their own beliefs and i respect that just like you should respect everyone. and when you say that catholics are a pain and "as bad as the rest of us" just remember that despite peoples beliefs we are all in fact human and abide by the same laws etc. unfortunately it seems that there are those narrow minded biggots who are unwilling to look at the truth in a subject and will label people and treat them as they see fit and not how they deserve.

I agree Catholics can be just as bad as everyone else, but i've always been told confession was just a visible sign of repentance (the idea that unless you honestly repent your sin, no amount of Our Father's will help you) so no different really from other Christians.

THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!
They are worse
they can do the most horrible things and then go to church and confess and be absolved of their guilt!!!!
it is theirs think,
leave them alone,
dont judge them ...
there exist some1 who will judge them & all of us...
