Well, I'm not sure if this will make sense, but I'll do my best.
I'm currently in therapy to recall my memories and my fiance is doing his best to help me remember our relationship. I recently suffered a seizure and was in a coma for a week which also somehow resulted in me losing a lot of my past memories. in fact i had an emergency c-section in that time and for a very long time did not recall even being pregnant ( bits are coming back now, small small bits, we were giving the baby up for adoption anyway) I lost nearly a year of my life which is basically our entire relationship, so it is extremely hard for both of us since we live together. The odd part is after I woke up I still had to stay in the hospital for three more weeks to relearn to walk and everything and after I became more cognizant and was off the pain killers is when he actually proposed to me and I said yes, and it's been a few months now and I have been to many outpatient therapies and he has stood by me and I haven't regretted my decision at all. But there is a lot more to it then that of course. I am much more focused because I CANNOT focus now, or I try to be. Anyway my therapist and i talk a lot about different kinds of memory loss because she keeps telling me I could have it much worse so I have other information if you want to ask me personal information or if anyone does it really actually helps me get better I think.

ok, these are my philosophical ideas. memories from the past help most of the time when someone is trying to succeed in the present. any thought from the past, even if it's a bad one, teaches people lessons. good experiences, of course, allow people to gain knowledge. sometimes memories can hinder one's way of succees. for example, if someone experienced bad child abuse, it may block them for learning anything. everytime the remember a certain seen, they can't focus on anything. these are my opinions.

How could memories hinder people in learning from their past? If you remember something you liked, you're more likely to do it again. If you remember something you didn't like, you're not going to do it again, are you?
