I have let my bestfriend use a cell phone that I had after my divorce under the family share plan. Since that time I have had to occasionally hunt her down for her half of the payment. Recently I moved to another state but kept things the way that they were. It is now time to pay the bill, actually it's past due and she is avoiding me like crazy. Should I disconnect her phone and let my daughter have it, or give her the benefit of the doubt and wait? I don't want to end a 20 year friendship over this, but I can't carry her as I am a single mom trying to make my own ends meet. Thanks in advance for your answers.

You don't want to lose your 20 year friendship over a cell phone, so just disconnect the line. She has not paid her part of the bill and she is taking advantage of you. Once you get hold of her, tell her that she needs to pay the bill because she agreed to use the phone and you've offered to let her use it. I'm surprised that she hasn't jacked up the bill yet and the last thing you want right now is to screw up your credit. You are NOT your friends mother and she needs to be responsible of paying her own bills. If all doesn't go well, at least you know who your true friends are. Best of luck.

If she is not going to pay, the only thing you can do is to take her off the plan. You have to explain this to her without getting angry and yelling. If she draws the line on the friendship, think of what kind of position she is putting you in, you would not be wrong for doing this.

The point that she is avoiding you should jus tell you to take her off the plan and include your daughter because she's not helping you out by paying her half which i'm sure was agreed......
A true friend would not treat you so in the first place....

even after 20 years, you can not know a person! human beings are always very changing in their behavior... you shouldn't let her have the phone anymore....
