Does anyone know if this has happened? My drivers side window wont go completly up or down, i believe the motor is shot. Someone had mentioned that Chevrolet released a recall on this motor. I have looked around online and cannot find anything. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

You should be able to go to the chevrolet home page, they should have their recalls listed there. Either that or you can go to a Chevy dealer, they'll run your VIN (vehicle id #) and that will list any recalls you might have on your vehicle. There should be no charge for them to check and no charge to do the repairs if there is a recall

I can tell you that there has not been a recall on the window motors for as long as I can remember and I have been in the business for about 8 years now. You can always call any GM dealership and give them your vehicle identification number (VIN) to verify whether there is a recall or not, but I can tell you that there isn't any recalls on the 2003 cavalier for the window. I do this on a daily basis because people call us and want to just find out if they have any recalls or if they just purchased the vehicle, they want to know also. I have never told anyone that they have to come in to tell if there is a recall, because a recall, depending on the severity of the recall, might just call for an inspection only and not replacement of any parts.
They might have a recall because there was a certain production of vehicles with the issue, but not all are defective, so therefore an inspection only is required.
I hope this helps you, since you are getting info from someone who works at a Chevrolet dealership.

Chinese made motors. Check Autozone or advance auto parts web site. They have recall info.

Chevy window motors usually go bad, replaced some off them before. but check wires first, may have corrosion.

call the dealer. ask for a service writer. then be prepared to give your Vin #. If the service writer says to bring it in they cant help you on the phone. ask for the service manager. then tell him the service writer is not helping you. if he is a prick too go to the general manager. they should help you out. if not find a better dealership...
